Great paper discussing the current challenges and complexities for prehabilitation for cancer survivors prior to surgery. This is a strong personal interest area of mine in the field of Exercise Oncology but I feel that this paper does a great job addressing some of the current issues for cancer survivors adhering to prehabilitation programs. Whether if its cancer survivors living with different cancers types, (i.e., breast cancer versus pancreatic cancer), socioeconomic backgrounds, or even with different levels of health literacy; compliance to a program may be a challenge. In order for these issues to be resolved it's important to understand why these challenges exist and how we can better tailor these programs to benefit all cancer survivors. Colon cancer is big problem but it’s even more of a concern due to the fact it can metastasize in the liver. Exercise has been shown to lower RPS4X, which is a protein and can dictate how various cancer cells function. Not only does the levels become lower but the cancer becomes weaker and easier to fight off.
