🚨🇨🇦 Canada's Inderdeep Singh Gosal Case Shows Kirpan Stabbings Aren’t New Kirpan has taken another innocent life. Henry Nowak is the latest victim, but this horror is far from isolated. In 2023, Inderdeep Singh Gosal stabbed Paul Schmidt to death on a busy Vancouver Starbucks patio in broad daylight. Gosal admitted he found the knife in a dumpster, saw it as a “sign from God,” and carried it while off his medication. These senseless, random attacks have been happening across Canada for years. When will we finally address the root causes instead of offering thoughts and prayers?

🇨🇦 Why Does Canada Give the Kirpan Special Rights the World Doesn’t? Canada bends over backwards for the Kirpan as a 'religious right,' even after repeated tragedies involving blades. But look at reality elsewhere: UAE: Over 40,000 Sikhs live peacefully under a complete Kirpan ban. Australia: Kirpans are banned in schools and many public places. Sikhs adapt without issue. Sikhs successfully follow local laws in dozens of countries with zero special carve-outs. Why does Canada alone keep offering exemptions that put public safety at risk? The same blade culture linked to Henry Nowak’s murder in the UK and Nancy Grewal’s stabbing in Ontario demands honest answers.

@RabbiZvi WTF knows what kind of knive they are using to murder innocents. All the common man knows is that they carry bladed weapons, and use them for murder. Quite splitting hairs. Ban the ceremonial knife. One rule for all.

@RamblingSikh posted this awesome video on TikTok and Facebook. Watch it and then read my post. The murderer of Henry Nowak did not use his Kirpan (religious blade). He used a pesh-kabs or choora. See pics below. (The right hand one is I believe the knife that was used in the murder). Sikhs carry a small ceremonial knife for religious reasons. You can’t just claim any knife is the kirpan. The knife used to murder Henry is designed to kill by internal bleeding; the police would have noticed very little blood outside his body. Three things combined to mean Henry died trussed up: • The knife that left little mark, little blood. • The training of police to pander to ethnic minorities over racism. • The conspiracy of the family to cover up and support the murderer. It was also dark. Anger at religious and racial minorities is misdirected. The Sikh community are law abiding; this guy was a knife obsessed exception, and any young man with a knife is a danger to everybody. It wasn’t his religious item. Anger at the police not noticing fails to take into account the other factors; how often does anyone see a stabbing where there is so little blood? Anger at the police training and obvious bias is fair. So, what to do? • Train police to recognize this case and not to be used by manipulative criminals (it happens wrt GC people too, TRAs have used the police to their own purposes). • train police by handling a real kirpan so if they encounter a Sikh they know what it is. • change the law to remove Criticsk Race Theory from public life and institutions. As @KemiBadenoch says, every life matters, and the law should not create a hierarchy of racism and who is believed in such cases. • Condemn the identity politics practised on the left and the right, that atomises us abd disunites our wonderful country.

@AtmaSingh2022 Conservatives will sell the Sikh community down the river in a heartbeat if it will ingratiate themselves to the core base of reform voters, Kemi is your archetype house slave, a very sad phenomena of the modern age even more so than in the past where minorities facilitate hate.

I don't trust #Conservatives on the #Kirpan. Conservatives may sell out #Sikh Faith (No Sikh MPs). #Reform are #Farage Fascists scapegoating #Sikhs. Knifecrime is a huge issue in the UK. The Sikh ceremonial Kirpan has not been used in them. Not even in Henry Nowak heinous murder.

Banning the Kirpan is a must If cannot wait till we get a new government in 2029 - it needs to be done now. No ethnic groups should get special exemptions to carry weapons in public when the rest of us don’t It’s about safety and it’s about fairness change.org/p/ban-the-kirp…

A man was violently stabbed to death. The murderer was arrested and convicted. One of the murderer's family members was also convicted of aiding and abetting him. No, I am not talking about poor Henry Nowak; I am talking about poor Mohammed Algassim, a Saudi Arabian student, here to learn English, who was murdered in Cambridge by a drunken, coked-up, white Englishman. If you are astute enough to go to the BBC News website, then click on "England", then click on "Local News", then click on "East" then click on "Cambridge" you will find a report on it... #TwoTierOutrage bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

@PrabhdeepReform Number 2 is bullshit, see pic. Number 4, how is any non Sikh supposed to know if it is your special knife or a random one. You get to carry knives in an unarmed society. The knives are all the same to Sikh murder victims. The whole family was involved in the murder and coverup.

Facts Vs Misinformation First and foremost, our thoughts remain with Henry Nowak, his family, friends, and everyone affected by this terrible tragedy. Justice must be done, and the focus should remain on the victim and the facts. 1. The offender must receive the full punishment of the law. No concessions should be given to Henry’s killer or to any family member found to have been involved in criminal wrongdoing. 2. The Sikh community has condemned this act. Not only in the UK, but across the world, Sikhs have condemned this violence and stand in solidarity with Henry’s family. This act does not represent Sikh values or Sikh teachings. 3. Concerns about the offender were reportedly raised before the incident. I understand that members of the Southampton Sikh community had previously reported concerns about his behaviour to the police and had barred him from entering the Gurdwara. It raises legitimate questions about whether earlier intervention could have prevented this tragedy. What more could a community reasonably have done to distance itself from an individual whose behaviour had already caused concern? 4. The weapon used was not a Kirpan. Let us be absolutely clear: the weapon reportedly used in this tragic incident was not a Kirpan. Reports indicated that a separate Persian-style knife was involved, which is not one of the Sikh Articles of Faith and, if carried unlawfully, was being carried illegally. 5. To those who are questioning its ceremonial importance, referring to it as a dagger, and then simply saying, “We don’t care”. It may be a lack of education or accurate information, and that is understandable. However, let us be absolutely clear: Firstly, it is not a dagger. The Sikh Gurus did not simply adopt an existing term such as dagger, knife, sword, talwar, khanjar, or any equivalent word from Punjabi, Hindi, Urdu, Farsi or Persian. Instead, Sikh tradition uses the unique term Kirpan, a word rich in spiritual meaning and purpose. The very name reflects the Sikh duty to protect the vulnerable, uphold justice, and exercise strength with compassion. For this reason, reducing the Kirpan to merely a knife or dagger overlooks its deeper religious significance. Secondly, even after understanding the history and significance of the Kirpan, some people may still say, “We don’t care”. That is, of course, their choice. However, Sikhs have never measured their faith by whether others care about it or approve of it. What Sikhs care about is remaining true to the teachings of their Guru, the values those teachings represent, and their longstanding tradition of service to British society. Their contribution speaks for itself and does not require validation through social media arguments. 6. I am grateful to the many people who have commented on and responded to my previous post with messages of reassurance, support, and solidarity during this difficult time, both following the tragic loss of Henry Nowak and in recognition of the distress felt by all British Sikhs in the wake of this devastating incident. I am fully aware of some hateful comments circulating online targeting the 5K . Many of these may not even come from genuine members of the public. Fake accounts, trolls, and automated bot accounts often become active during highly emotional events, seeking to inflame tensions and create division between the British Sikh community and the British people. Violence should be condemned. Solidarity with Henry Nowak and his family. Prabhdeep Singh #JusticeForHenryNowak #BritishSikhs #ReformUK #sikhhistory #kirpan

Dear @KemiBadenoch please explain your rationale to raise unnecessary fear and questions regards the Sikh articles of faith? This tragic case has not provided favour or protection on religious grounds to the murderer and your intentions to demonise and hold the entire Sikh community responsible as a result are both political and inappropriate. We are more than happy to meet to discuss our concerns and real hate crimes being experienced every day by Sikhs across the UK as a result of such comments.
Kemi Badenoch@KemiBadenoch

Today I have met Lucy, Mark and Katie, Henry Nowak’s mother, father and stepmother. Their courage is extraordinary. They have endured the most appalling loss, it is a life sentence for them. They have also faced the agonising decision to release the harrowing body-worn camera footage, knowing how painful it would be and how strongly people would react. They did so because they want truth, accountability and change. They have asked that we work across political parties and religions to rebuild trust in the police. That trust has been broken because of what happened, and I agree with them on that. We must also be prepared to examine, carefully and seriously, religious practices or exemptions that permit the carrying of dangerous weapons in public, and other activities that are not conducive to the public good. We also need to examine where the law needs to change. Henry’s family do not want anger to tear communities apart. They are a family who have friends across faith and race, and so did Henry. His family want his memory to help bring our society together. Everyone knows I have strong views about how we should deal with equality under the law. What the family agreed with me on is that we need to bring common sense back, and that is what we should all be fighting for. I promised the family that we will work to ensure there is a positive legacy for Henry out of this tragedy. That is my focus now.

@TanDhesi Who gives a fuck what kind of knife it is? WTF are you carring any knives in an unarmed society? Can the common man call the police and have your knives checked to make sure you 1) are a baptized Sikh 2) are carrying the proper "ceremonial knife" 3) aren't packing other knives?

#Sikhs have peacefully practiced their faith carrying a #kirpan (small ceremonial dagger) in #Britain for over a century. Weapon used in #HenryNowak’s tragic murder was not a kirpan, but a lethal 8 inch armour-piercing blade. Sikhs deserve better than this knee-jerk reaction.
