All these Lightning fans are worried about talking shit to Sabres fans, yall might wanna worry about yourselves first. You’re almost closer to missing the playoffs than you are to overtaking us for first place LMAO. Only 5 points above the playoff line #Sabrehood #GoBolts

@BoltsBreakdown @JFreshHockey I might be a little crazy, but I remember watching him, and sometimes, when I couldn't see his number, I genuinely thought it was Kucherov.

@Matthew_ONeill5 @BoltsBreakdown @NHL 3-7 in our last 10, didn’t play great even in our most recent game. Team is lost and we’re kinda starting to worry just a smidgeee bit.

@BoltsBreakdown I'm well aware of that, but it's concerning. 3-7 in our last 10, with our three wins coming from the very struggling Leafs and the Detroit Redwings who are also struggling at the moment. 5 points ahead of WC2. I don't think we're done yet, but y'know...

@ScriptedValor Sure, but don’t forget this is just a random middle of March game. Nothing matters except getting in…and we’re essentially assured of that at this point. Tough to ask the guys to be dialed in night in and night out when these games ultimately don’t matter.

Rapid Reaction || 4-2 Loss (CAR): Jon Cooper told the media a few days ago he didn't wave the pompoms when we went 20-1-1, and he said he's not waving the white flag now (paraphrasing); still, if Coop isn't panicking, neither should we. Tonight was another disappointing loss — for sure — which sucks. It seems we've dug ourselves into some really poor habits, some really poor decisions, and we're struggling to get out of it. It happens to every team, though; it's all good. Even the Sabres will start losing eventually...so, no need to panic. Fact is, I was not impressed with the start tonight, not at all. But, I liked the response in periods 2 & 3. We put forth a gutsy effort, and that's nothing to scoff at. As disappointing as the result is and as much as I thought we deserved a better outcome, the final score is the final score; we can't change that. I think the puck luck went the other way: First off, I thought the Hurricanes' first goal should've never counted...it was a delayed penalty & Hedman touched the puck. Right then, Right there, the refs should've blown the play dead. Instead, Carolina leads 1-0. Secondly, how on God's green earth did the Canes' 3rd goal get in the net?! Are you kidding me...sharp angle shot deflects off of Hedman into the net...again, bad puck luck. Finally, I thought the officiating was suspect tonight. I never like blaming the refs, but I want to make that known as it is another component of this "bad puck luck" I refer to. At the end of the day, it's another loss. When will it end?! Some closing thoughts: 1) Hedman & Chucky have got to shore up their defensive mistakes. No one is immune (except maybe Girgy, please heal fast), but those two in particular really struggle handling the puck — at least as of late. It's infuriating to watch...how many times can I scream, "HEDDY!" or "CHUCKY!" in one night?! 2) The Hounds were on fire tonight, definitely our best line. It's good to see them buzzing again; they were so crucial in our run of success. 3) Kucherov looked ill tonight. It was the first time (against CAR) since his very first game against Carolina that he was held without a point. I'm not sure what got into him, but let's hope he plays a little better on next week's roadtrip. ———————————————— Lots of hockey left to be played...Don't give up on the Lightning now. We're still the same team that went nearly unbeaten for 2 months, don't forget it. Bolts Breakdown Three Stars: 1st Star—Zemgus Girgensons 2nd Star—Yanni Gourde 3rd Star—Andrei Vasilevskiy #GoBolts

@AlexZE516112 @Canes2Arizona @TBLightning I would be too, but given how the Atlantic is, it's not entirely impossible. We're only 5 pts ahead of WC2 spot, many of the teams in the hunt are not really slowing down. 17 games left, if we keep slowing down or even staying the same, we win only 5 more games for 94 total pts.

@AlexZE516112 @Canes2Arizona @TBLightning At our best of course we are. But, being honest here, I'm not even sure if we'll end up in the playoffs at this rate. 3-7 in our last 10. You don't get in the playoffs winning only 30% of your remaining games, especially since those three wins were against also struggling teams.

@AlexZE516112 @Canes2Arizona @TBLightning Yup, it definitely is. During our hot streak of 21-1-1 prior to the break, we didn't really have any of our usual defensemen other than Raddysh, Moser, and Cernak. McDonagh and Hedman come back, and well oh well look what starts to happen.

@DadBenjamin @BoltsJolts It went off of Hedman, dude. If Vasy, who has saved us multiple times, isn't a real goalie, then who is lol. Stuart Skinner?

@BertxMacklin @NJTHabs22 @NHL_Watcher You've clearly forgotten the point of the Hart Trophy: The most valuable player to their team in the league. In terms of contribution to team goals: 46.2% Kucherov, 47.6% McDavid, 43.1% MacKinnon, Celebrini 46.8%. Your roster argument actually improves his case by the way.

Don’t know if he’s even top 5. Dude has a vezina candidate goalie, a jack Adam’s candidate coach, and a team that had the most olympians on their roster of any team in the NHL, that hasa roster that made the post season 7 years in a row with 2 Stanley cup wins and a third showing, Dude has an entire dream franchise built around him. Please stop glazing.

Kucherov has almost 40 more points than the next leading scorer on Tampa (37 to be exact), insane. Has to be Hart Trophy finalist. #GoBolts

@BertxMacklin @NJTHabs22 @NHL_Watcher So MacKinnon also isn't top 5 following your logic, right? Jack Adam's candidate coach, a goalie thats top 1 in GAA and top 2 in sv%. Avalanche sent 8 Olypians, we had 11 selected only 9 went. Surely not McDavid, when his teammates are 4th place and T10 in pts. Right?

@NJTHabs22 @NHL_Watcher Why would he not be top 3? He's 6 points behind McDavid with 6 fewer games played. McDavid is 16 points ahead of Draisaitl, and 35 points ahead of their 3rd top, Bouchard. MacKinnon has 27 more points than the next leading, which is Necas. Guentzel has 1 more point than Makar.

@NHL_Watcher He won’t be t3. It’s gonna be MacKinnon, McDavid and Celebrini. Assuming the Sharks make the playoffs it’s gotta be Celebrini winning it.

@BoltsBreakdown I suppose, but I don't think it's ideal given the type of situation we are in for him to be making those passes. We're clearly struggling to get our offense going besides the Sabres game, and it's more important to win. If we clinch? Fine, go ahead all you want.

Right. I heard a thought today though…this is who Hedman is and who he has been for so many years. It is what has made him the best of the best. So while it sucks that he’s failing right now and kinda costing us games, it is worth it to allow him to continue attempting the crazy offensive passes because usually he can make them, and we will want him to be confident in making those same passes come playoffs. I thought that was interesting.

@BoltsBreakdown It's extremely frustrating watching him not using his size. Dude is 6'7" playing like he's only 6'0, losing board battles to much smaller guys, and he's too aggressive at times positionally that he finds himself in trouble. He takes up so much space, use that advantage!

@BoltsBreakdown Offensively, no he's not bad. It's the defensive aspect of his game, the most crucial part for a defensemen. He's still forcing passes, and not making good decisions with it. The other day, on the power play, he passes it cross ice while in the neutral zone and turns it over.
