If unions make genuinely unreasonable demands, it sets the scene for union busting -and it’ll be successful, bc ILA alienated too many.

The head of the union's responsibility is to the union members. It's not unreasonable for him to fight that progress rather than than just letting a bunch of his union members lose their jobs

The Overseas Press Club of Cambodia (OPCC) & our partners issued a statement calling for the immediate release of Mech Dara, a journalist whose recent arrest is a clear attempt to silence critical voices in an already shrinking space for press freedoms.

We now know Dara is at court in Phnom Penh and his case is with investigating judge Lim Sokuntheara. In the next few hours, the judge will decide whether Dara is sent to prison on pre-trial detention or allowed to return home under judicial supervision.

@MechDara1 worked for the Cambodia Daily when I was at the Phnom Penh Post years ago (around the time this photo was taken). He was then, and is now a fearless reporter willing to do what's necessary to accurately report on #Cambodia. He must be released immediately.#FreeMechDara

Harris seems to have actually had unusually high staff turnover, but man the quotes from staff about *why* they didn't like the boss are always the whiniest shit ever. I guess one thing is the ex-staff who whine to press are worse staffers than those who quit delicately.
