Zero illegal aliens are being released into the country, net immigration is down for the first time in decades, we we've had negative net migration for the first time in 50 years. Don't let professional demoralizers tell you otherwise.

I'm leading a coalition of states defending Alaska against a federal court order requiring the state to provide a prisoner a referral for sex-change surgery. The 8th Amendment does not require states to provide experimental gender transition surgeries using taxpayer dollars.

Most Idahoans don’t want Ghetto Projects sprawling up on every corner.

Quick breakdown of the 4 immigration bills introduced this morning: Money Transfer Tax (RS 33695) Imposes a tax on international money transfers, with a credit for Idahoans. Framed as addressing the economic impact of illegal immigration. Notably, this appears to revive legislation originally brought forward by @SenatorPhilHart that never received a hearing. 287(g) / ICE Cooperation (RS 33831) Requires local law enforcement to apply for and participate in agreements with ICE to assist in immigration enforcement. Refugee & Illegal Alien Accountability Act (RS 33832) Adds reporting requirements for refugee programs, clarifies penalties around harboring/transporting illegal aliens, and requires verification/reporting of immigration status after arrests. Immigration Detainer Bill (RS 33835) Allows certain inmates with deportation orders to be transferred to ICE before completing their sentence, with potential cost savings to the state. Overall: this is real movement and shows the pressure is working. But none of this replaces the need for a full Senate floor vote and strong, enforceable policy.

ICE arrested Juan Padilla-Victorio an illegal alien from Mexico in Boise, ID. He has convictions for domestic battery, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, DUI, carrying a concealed weapon, and re-entering the U.S. after removal. ICE will remove Padilla to Mexico.

Three conservative legislators attending Nez Perce County Lincoln Day in Lewiston.

Today we passed two bullion bills on the Senate Floor. S1323 adds to last year’s previous bill minting gold and silver coins as legal tender in the State of Idaho.

S1338 passed the Senate 24-8. This gives the State Treasure authority to invest part of Idaho’s money fund in Gold and Silver. The Governor Vetoed legislation in 2024 due to lacking specifics on the fiscal investment, so this bill helps specify that.
