So many jewish holidays are centered on death: Yom Kippur (they swing and kill chickens), Passover (death of Egyptian first borns), Hannukah (the bloody Maccabean revolt), Purim (the hanging of Haman who had "plotted against jews")... And this one as well, Yom Hashoah.
I can't think of any other religion that has so much DEATH so ingrained into its practices and celebrations.
Sure, we do celebrate Good Friday, the day Jesus died. But we only celebrate it because of his Resurrection. Big difference. It's not about dancing on the graves of your enemies or killing animals.
And it only gets worse when you dig into the Talmud

#YomHashoah is a sacred day. A day to immerse ourselves in grief as we remember the six million Jews murdered in the Shoah by the Nazis and their collaborators. And we remember that this day is not only about loss, but also about courage. Yom HaShoah V’Hagvurah (Holocaust Martyrs’ and Heroes’ Remembrance Day) calls on us to honor the countless acts of bravery and resilience, the moments when the light of humanity endured even in the darkest of places.
