Every year, 5 million children die before their 5th birthday—most from causes we can prevent. At #WHA78, the REACH Network, with the unwavering support of @muhammadpate, united Ministers and partners to say: enough is enough. It's time for bold, country-led, & collaborative action. #ChildSurvival #REACHNetwork #CommunityEngagement #PrimaryHealthCare Thank you for your commitment 🙏🙏

Today we managed to evacuate our @WFP_UNHAS colleague who was injured in yesterday’s attack on Sana’a airport in #Yemen. We are now in #Jordan, where he will receive further medical treatment. Deepest gratitude to the UNHAS team for their service and swift evacuation from #Yemen, where we were on a UN mission to negotiate for the release of detained colleagues. Attacks on civilians and humanitarians must stop, everywhere. #NotATarget

The attack yesterday on the main hospital in Al-Fashir, #Sudan, resulted in 9 deaths and 20 injuries among patients and their companions. These continued attacks on health across Sudan are deplorable. We urge for the protection of all patients and health professionals, and for all attacks on and around health facilities to stop.

Today is One Health Day. The health of humans, animals and ecosystems are closely interlinked. Changes in these relationships can increase the risk of new human and animal diseases developing and spreading. #OneHealth is an approach to optimize the health of humans, animals and ecosystems by integrating these fields, rather than keeping them separate bit.ly/40A3wa6

Increasing public spending for health and social protection in Africa could increase life expectancy by more than 8 years and contribute to greater productivity and development.   @WHO is present in all countries on the Continent, and we’re working with every nation to meet their population’s health needs, and to realise their potential. #RAF2024
