Sheffield City Council is to launch Local Climate Bonds in Dec, inviting residents and businesses to invest from £5 in local green projects. The money will fund things like solar panels, energy-efficiency upgrades, and EV infrastructure — reducing Sheffield’s carbon footprint.

🌳 Sheffield City Council has announced the expansion of its Tree Equity scheme for the 2025–26 planting season, focusing on neighbourhoods such as Southey, Longley, and Parson Cross. The project aims to address inequalities in tree coverage across the city.

Stagecoach Yorkshire is a finalist for the Environmental Innovation Award at the 2025 UK Bus Awards for its work to make Sheffield’s bus network greener. The company introduced electric buses supported by smart-charging systems that cut emissions and optimise energy use.

October's Sustainability Netwalking event will take place next Thursday, 16th October. Meeting at 9.15am outside Sheffield Town Hall before walking around Sheffield City Centre exploring public works of art, the cultural quarter and city squares.
