This is a resource that aims to empower the practitioner and shows how global citizenship education can happen through play & interactions. Developing knowledge, attitudes & skills - head, heart and hands - in a developmentally appropriate way. Let’s plant some seeds! 🌱 @HOWDEC

I love these maths postcards that the @EChildhoodMaths group have created for families. A great way to support families to see the maths in everyday activities and promote mathematical talk. earlymaths.org/maths-postcard…

New term - new space! 🤩 Just moved into a brand new learning space with my class - kitchen, wet floor & access to an outdoor space! The stuff of dreams (patiently waited for 6 years…) Currently collaborating with the children to build our space. #beingme #playistheway

I Came across a statistic a few days ago that only 4% of early practitioners are male…. Why? This is an amazing profession. How do we get more men involved? How can we get the visibility in early years… 💭 💭

@Mr_Minchin @Mr_Richards_ Play is how young children learn best, and is at its best when pupil voice and choice are valued. Play is not stand back and get on with something else.. it is time to stand back and observe attentively… and be ready to catch a spark!

If you’re looking for some inspiration on your journey to play, this book is it. Some magical examples of really listening to the child and responding in a way that will take their learning forward, without limiting the possibilities! Thank you @oakwoodEY

In guided play, the adult’s notion of what has value in play takes center stage. If, instead, you step back during play & observe, the child’s abilities, interests, & discoveries will guide you. Social science “research” can’t justify stripping children of a basic right to joy.
