When we visited someones house, even if it is only for an hour, Amma would go directly to the Kitchen to help the lady of of the house in preparing lunch/snacks/coffee. She would also help serve them to us, remove the plates later and wash them This culture is disappearing

@viswaguru1964 True. It was a small function for about 20 people. Caterer only bought food. Serving was not done. We just took it upon us . The host and hostess were so thankful.

@Shobhs5 Hardly anyone does including hosts at functions. They leave it to caterers No one wants their dress or makeup to be disturbed as they are all busy with selfies Serving someone personally is a gesture of respect
