@robprogressive Taxing the rich more would mean less jobs created. Less jobs created translates to less tax collected. That's why it's a self defeating idea.

@LeeHurstComic I've got an even better idea. Let's tax wealth and income according to ability to pay. That way richer people pay more and poorer people pay less so we all get to benefit. Another idea, what about penalising low pay employees whose workers need benefits to survive?

IDEA How about we set a legal, simplified tax rate. 15% for everyone on all their income. No personal allowance. Just a flat rate of 15%. Then… The government can only spend that much. No more. It has to live within its means. How about that? Maybe we can the. pay off the debt and then cut the 15% rate further. Sounds like a plan to ne.

@talok253 In my day, hard work provided the likelihood of a good life. If I was starting out today, I'd be disinclined to work hard for nothing. I'd vote for a party whose central principle was that one average wage provides enough for the basics of family life and a bit of luxury on top.
