LA hasn’t been easy… I am a leather boy… loyalty, commitment, forgiveness, self reflection and love are what define me. For some, leather is a sexual desire/fantasy, others it’s a kink or a weekend circuit outfit… in many ways it can encompass all of the above. There are no set rules except for the ones you create and it can be a bond between people that is unbreakable. My life has always been in the public eye, some by choice, I hosted my first TV show at 12, had an 8 year run on another winning an EMMY and a TELLY award. I eventually went on to become President of Albuquerque Pride, had dinner with the Obamas, and became a face of a movement back home when we were fighting for marriage equality and to put an end to Don’t Ask Don’t Tell. I had to give up a lot for the fight, for the the cause. I never fully embraced myself, especially as a leather boy, at the time it was to risky and in a Stare that was so heavily conservative. The fight was more important then my needs, wants and desires. I thought I’d find my people in LA, I ran for a leather title, attended leather events and even tried to join a POC leather group… None of it panned out… its been lonely in LA, yet I’m not giving up on it. I know my people are out there, possible even my Dom. LA is very transactional, I learned that quickly & being new, well, no one prepares you for it. They say LA will make you or break you, that it changes you….. well, I’m not broken, but I have learned my self worth, and I am ok with who I am. I give, I love, I apologize, I move forward & celebrate & uplift others. I thought nobody wanted me, but what I learned is the right people will see me. The right people will see the qualities that make you, well, you, not as competition but as something to celebrate, uplift and encourage. Many of you, daily, uplift me, you allow me to feel kindness & love & for that I am grateful.
