Just a mad club all round. Sitting 2nd, 4 points off Barca with practically half a season to go and currently in the top 8 of the CL.
Some of the players aren't having him by all accounts and at Madrid that usually means one thing.
His next move will be interesting

Xabi Alonso has left his role as Real Madrid head coach. Madrid announced the news on Monday, following Sunday’s Supercopa de Espana final defeat by Barcelona, with a club statement. In December, The Athletic reported that while Madrid ideally would like to keep Alonso, 44, and continue to have faith in the project, results are what matter most at such a demanding club. Although the board does not believe Alonso is solely to blame for the situation, they are unhappy with the team’s image and recent results. Furthermore, there is concern that a significant part of the dressing room does not have a good connection with the coach and his ideas. The reality is, it is this type of political misinformation on the left that directly led to the events of the last week. There have been so many misquotes by media figures on the left in the last few days. Not one held to account, all retain their platforms, unchecked.

Apologies for this. I had seen a clip on social media which did not have the full context, and had seen others making the same claim. The full exchange shows it was a debate about Biblical interpretation, not a call for the stoning of gay people. Kirk did have views with which I strongly disagree but this was not among them. Note to self - especially amid tragic and potentially deeply polarising events, be extra careful about social media, mis- and disinformation
