Women are (rightly) allowed to be uncomfortable with innuendos from men, but men aren’t allowed to be uncomfortable with innuendos from gay men? These people are insufferable.

Christians, would this be grounds for divorce?

My stepfather abused my mom horrifically. We lived in a shelter for many months because of this. Men who abuse their wives deserve severe punishment. My mom separated from him, had protection, and he divorced her. But I must be faithful to God’s word above all. I’m sorry for the abuse you and your mom suffered. For your question, sexual abuse is grounds for divorce, of course.

@SlowToWrite @BiblicalBeauty @farmingandJesus So if a man beats his wife to an inch of her life, she stays? What about sexual abuse? What if he rapes her? My father abused me, my mom divorced him. Would the biblical response be to stay married to a child abuser?

That’s an interesting argument that I hadn’t considered before. I’ll do some more thinking about it. But I’m also think it sets up a dangerous precedent. What about men who abuse their wives? You and I agree that they are pathetic men who deserve significant jail time, but would that be grounds for divorce? And depending on your definition of biblical law, what about wives who want to divorce apostate husbands?

@SlowToWrite @farmingandJesus If biblical law were applied, a murderer would be put to death, so, in lieu of that, divorce would likely be considered an acceptable option by many faithful elders.

Her baby’s blood is crying out for justice. God will deliver that justice. Either through the cross of Jesus Christ or hell.

Some Africans are in heaven today because of the sovereignty of God over slavery. Through slavery, God freed some Africans from sin. Also, Christianity eventually banned slavery. But millions of Africans are still slaves in Muslim countries.
