Good summary. But I really don’t get the concern with cash outlay that has suddenly entered the conversation over the past few years. Never heard it mentioned until recently.
I guess it has to do with the size of today’s contracts, but aren’t the profits also escalating?

Re: finances of an A.J. Brown trade, both cap/cash... The Eagles would have a cap hit of $23.4M if Brown is on the roster this season. That swells to $43.4M in dead money if he's traded before June 1, per overthecap. So the Eagles would absorb an additional $20M against the cap compared to what's already allocated. From a cash perspective — which is important when considering the number of deals the Eagles have coming up in the next 18-36 months — the Eagles would free themselves from $113M in cash due for the remainder of the contract.
