Governor Tim Walz has issued a curfew for all of Hennepin, Ramsey, Anoka and Dakota Counties beginning tonight (04/12/2021) from 7:00 PM until 6:00 AM.

The SLMPD is happy to report that both lanes of Hwy 7 through Excelsior have reopened. We appreciate your patience during the 12 hour road closure.

Both east and west bound lanes of Hwy 7 from Co Rd 19 (Oak Street) to Christmas Lake Road is estimated to remain closed for another 3 to 4 hours while crews remove the power and utility cables. Please continue to find alternate routes.

East and westbound lanes of Hwy 7 through Excelsior will remain closed for several more hours as crews work on the power lines and utilities. We will update you once the highway reopens. Please continue to use alternate routes.

Temporary road closure due to an accident in Excelsior. Both east and west bound lanes of Hwy 7 are closed through Excelsior from Hwy 41 to Christmas Lake Road. Power and utilities are also affected. Please use alternate routes if possible.

Excelsior Snow Emergency in Effect: If you are parking on the street 1-7am on 1/18 park on the EVEN side of the street or your vehicle will be ticketed and towed. ❄️
