@samhouston The "Guy from Joomla" here, it is good to see where such volunteers made totally free software can take people! It's great to see what comes of the effort as when we put a new version out we never know how it will change people's lives

kinda tripping out because I'm on a call with a guy from Joomla Joomla (and later, Drupal) was the first CMS I used for my MMO radio station fansite back in 2006. That site is ultimately what led me to get my first job / drop out of college and move to Boston :)

@mysitesguru @joomla You got banned for being needlessly rude to contributors, you made a similar claim about waiting a few releases ago when it was a security release and there was no further release as there was no issue except in exceptional circumstances and if you used out-of-date PHP! Cry Wolf?

@joomla August 15th is a major religious holiday for Catholic and Orthodox Christians, the Assumption of Mary (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assumptio…). It’s also the middle of vacation days in Europe, especially pertinent after 2 years of CoViD-19 lockdowns. This release date is grossly inappropriate.

There has been a buzz recently. My assistant Stacey is using J4 and loving it, so quick, it took less than a morning to get used to after using J3 for 4 years and now as a content creator she is finding it a joy to use and thats not something she would usually say unprompted!

Free Software doesn't mean you can change the copyright and author and claim it is your own

@mysitesguru I care for 3.10, alpha as there is the end of life plugin being added and that has to be done right at the end as it needs the release date included and thats determined by the J4 RC state, so when we have the last RC the 3.10 can also be RC. 3.10 has the compatibility checker

Apparently there is also Joomla 3.10.0 Alpha 6 slated for release - but it seems no one cares about 3.10.x series at all …

So is anyone actually excited for a #Joomla 4.0.0 Release Candidate in a few hours? No? Yes? Why?
