Come rain or shine, it was great to be out in Stanwell & Ashford again this weekend #VoteLabour

2025 was the year the labour movement and Labour Government together delivered the Employment Rights Act. 2026 will be the year it starts to deliver change for workers. This year will see day one sick pay, repeal of the 2016 TU Act, improved recognition rights, the Fair Work Agency, day one paternity leave, protection against harassment at work, union access rights... and more coming into force. Happy New Year!

Today's record-breaking windfarm auction is good news. Securing significant investment in clean power is what we need to hit net zero. This is a golden opportunity to on-shore supply chains and create good jobs across the UK. We must take it.

A sock full of oats in the bath. Expensive medications that don’t always do much to help. Gloves. Nights of screaming. And in the worst cases: severe illness or death — all potentially avoidable with a vaccine. Common sense policy!

BREAKING: Labour's landmark Employment Rights Bill has PASSED both Houses of Parliament. The new rights in this Bill will be transformational, putting power back into the hands of working people. This is a massive step forward in delivering Labour's New Deal for Working People - passed by a Labour Government, delivered with the labour movement. Time to celebrate 🎉

The Tories pulled us out of the Erasmus scheme. With Labour, the UK is rejoining that scheme. This will mean every young person has the chance to study or train abroad, no matter their background.

🚨 BREAKING: The Employment Rights Bill has now passed Parliament and will soon become law - End to zero-hour contracts - workers will gain guaranteed hours, reasonable notice of shifts, and pay for last-minute shift cancellations - Stronger Statutory Sick Pay with no Lower Earnings Limit or 3 day waiting period - Day-one right to paternity leave and unpaid parental leave - Right to claim unfair dismissal after six months - Ban on "fire and rehire" and "fire and replace" practices - New right to unpaid bereavement leave, including pregnancy loss - New protections against unfair dismissal for pregnant women and new mothers - Stronger redundancy rules, forcing employers to consult workers when 20 or more jobs are at risk at one workplace or when large-scale redundancies happen across a company - Creation of a "Fair Work Agency" to enforce workers’ rights
