Villa is our 11th match in 36 days. Roughly a match every 3 days; the same players slogging it out, travelling up and down the country (plus Hoffenheim) and we say they’re not trying hard enough. Let’s be honest we don’t even understand the mental and physical exhaustion.

Sorry to be that person, but £40m for a player with a year left on his contract and desperate for a reunion with RDZ is criminal. Surely the sensible play would be to wait for January and get him at a cut price or freebie next summer. We’re not short on CB cover + no Europe.

willing to overpay (within reason) for key targets where we need to, but extending that to just immediately paying asking prices with no questions asked would be very stupid and would see us run out of money well before getting close to doing what we need to do this summer.

To defend people that are concerned about overpaying and getting told "it's not your money!" - yes...obviously not. The issue with overpaying needlessly is that our budget is finite - the more you spend, the less there is to go towards other targets. We should absolutely be

Van Hecke is an upgrade on Romero when you consider his availability. Yes he’s a slight drop in defensive quality, but he’s not far off in terms of ball playing. The fact he won’t miss half our games is huge. Availability and consistency is key

@TotalSpursTV It’s obviously not my decision mate. I’m giving an opinion and I care about us spending poorly, just as we’ve done in the past. Just like I didn’t want us to sign Richarlison, Porro, Odobert, Vicario, Tel and others that have been extremely underwhelming.

£35m max for Van Hecke. If they reject, they’ll accept £30m in January, otherwise he’ll leave on a free a few months later. Spend the £20m saving elsewhere.

I’ll be very sad to see Romero go… Spurs fans wanting him gone is very odd to me. But the only reason it may be a good idea is because he is refereed differently.. A strong tackle from Romero is a booking or worse. He’s been class for us and anyone suggesting otherwise be crazy
