Mitch Johnson didn't want to get into what he told the guys in the locker room after the game, but he says he's really proud of Dylan Harper and Carter Bryant as rookies and for trusting the process and learning what it means to a San Antonio Spur.

"We've been blood sweat and tears for nine months and it's over." Spurs coach Mitch Johnson says his team was not ready to win an NBA championship, but he's proud of them.

"It doesn't compare with anything previously. This is the biggest lesson of my life.." Victor Wembanyama says he's having a hard time processing the meaning, but that he will learn from this experience. "It's been hard and full of lessons," he says while reflecting.

"He was upset with playing time and different roles that he was in, but he stepped up..." While acknowledging the Spurs' rookies, Devin Vassell leaked that Dylan Harper was upset with playing time at some point this past season.

At the half, the Knicks scored a meager 6 points in the paint during the entire first half and it is a direct result of the "Wemby Effect." The only thing concerning about that is the amount of energy that is being used by Wemby. Jalen Brunson is single-handedly keeping the Knicks' championship celebration on ice. He scored 16 of the Knicks' 37 total points on an efficient 6-of-12 (50%) shooting from the field and 3-of-4 from deep. Aside from Brunson and the Spurs' Dylan Harper (who is an efficient 4-of-6 for 11 points), nobody can buy a bucket. This is an old-school, rock-fight of a game with abysmal shooting splits across the board: Knicks Team FG%: 29.5% (13/44) Spurs Team FG%: 34.1% (15/44) Some of the individual struggles are brutal: San Antonio's Stephon Castle went 0-for-7 from the field, while New York's Jose Alvarado went 0-for-4. Devin Vassell is doing a great job overall, but he needs to score more points. He's only got four. If the Spurs are gonna win, Stephane Castle needs to improve and continue to attack the paint to pick up fouls against New York. Dylan Harper needs to play a lot of minutes in this next half. They have no answer for him.
