@Reece_Bridger @TheCyberZombie No no I completely agree but it is my specific industry which functions in this specific manner, and it has been repeatedly criticized for being like that. It is not talent oriented in the slightest, they don't conduct auditions either, nor do they actually know the projects..

This is example of how -not- to act in a very competitive workplace that is voice acting. Most other people who auditioned probably wanted it too, and they got passed over as well. You just werent what they were looking for. Just keep polishing your craft in the meantime.

If you’re wondering why you’re not getting VGen clients - here’s something I’ve learned after doing 70+ comms this year. Most people don’t really want to order a custom illustration where they have to come up with the whole concept, write a clear, detailed description, and gather a bunch of refs for every little thing. If that’s the only thing you’re offering - you might be missing a big part of the audience. They love stuff with a clear result (like YCHs or eye/head banners) and minimal effort to order (skeb, "surprise me"): just drop a character ref, pay, and wait. It’s often not even about the price or that your skill "isn't good enough for comms".
