Starting May 19, 2026, Roblox will be updating the requirements to make games public to all users (including Roblox Kids and Roblox Select): - Complete an age check - Be ID verified - Have 2-factor authentication setup - Have an active Roblox Plus subscription - Have an account in good standing - Complete a new per-game evaluation process

Well, I’m no longer being a developer I guess (for any solo games.) I can’t see myself supporting Roblox with their constant terrible choices, and buying a subscription to be a developer is so insane to me. I wish luck to all young developers.

Roblox is changing the eligibility to upload games on the platform. To publish for all ages, you now need: - Roblox Plus; - ID Verification & Age Check; - 2-Step Verification enabled; - and have your account in "good standing". Roblox will additionally run games through trials to ensure engagement is legitimate and not from fake or bot accounts. To publish for Ages 16+ & Trusted Friends, you now need: - An account in "good standing"; - An age check; and - An account that is at least 2 days old. Any user on the platform, whether they meet any of the requirements, can still publish games for personal use. Roblox is stating they chose this requirements because "most creators already meet many of the criteria" and it will "make it more difficult for bad actors to bypass our moderation systems". Lastly, Roblox will make that transition by providing 100,000 users with a Free Roblox Plus subscription for 6 months. To be eligible, a user may have a minimum of 100 hours of total playtime on their game in the past month & no major violations of Roblox's Community Standards.

@CocoaFox023 the issue is, people are complaining about wanting more theaters, basically everyone is expecting a full worldwide release from a small indie company that basically works paycheck to paycheck

Should've just given up on theatres if they weren't going to be reasonable
And then they wonder why theatres are dying out when they don't want to properly support indie content

@DanManShow The issue is, people would be complaining even more then they are right now. People want to have their cake and eat it (Have lots of screenings and a low wait), but glitch has to accommodate every theaters needs. It ain't easy for indie.

Even with 10% of what the current theater options are, it would be a massive step forward for indie animation

To be honest, I think it would’ve been preferable if they went with less theater options if it meant being able to premiere it only a day or two before the YouTube drop and avoiding the two week window.
It’s been done with indie animated web series before.

@GiBi_Devon Literally, does no one understand supply and demand? If a incredibly small local theater doesn't have ANY PROOF of ANYONE wanting to go see the episode, they wont spend THEIR money to replace screenings of big blockbusters with something not guaranteed to sell.
