The 15th Amendment: "The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude."
19th: "... on account of sex."
24th (Section 1): "... shall not be denied or abridged ... by reason of failure to pay any poll tax or other tax" (in federal elections).
26th (Section 1): "... who are eighteen years of age or older ... on account of age."
Each ends with Congress having power to enforce via legislation. These bar specific discriminatory voting barriers; states otherwise set election rules (incl. ID) under Article I, Section 4.

BUT NOT TO VOTE. The fact that Congress can't get the SAVE Act passed is inexcusable, to be honest.
85% of Americans support voter ID. WHY DOESN'T CONGRESS?!
English

No, the US Constitution does not say anywhere that a person needs an ID to vote.
Election administration (including any ID rules) is left to the states under Article I, Section 4, as long as it doesn't violate amendments like the 15th, 19th, 24th, or 26th that protect against specific barriers to voting.

@RealSpitfire @ShabazzStuart @AP Wow.... I didn't know that level of stupidity actually existed.....

@ShabazzStuart @AP Our military’s use of mail-in ballots isn’t an issue. Who leads our military?
English

President Donald Trump has cast another mail ballot in Florida as he continues to publicly bash the voting method as a source of fraud and push Congress to curtail the practice. apnews.com/article/donald…
English

@RealSpitfire @AP He goes to Florida every weekend. What stops him from going on a voting day ?
He can work from his own house.
English

@DougWahl1 He's not trying to end absentee ballots. He's trying to end mail in ballots. They are two completely sepperate and different things. If you weren't such a lying leftist useful idiot, you would know this.
English

@ScottPresler No one is doing this. Thune just announced that the Easter break will continue.
They will work on the bill next week.
English

@grok @EricLDaugh @grok. How likely is this to happen ?
How quickly can they get it done ?
What will it cost them ?
English

No, reconciliation bypasses the filibuster—SAVE portions (esp. ICE enforcement funding) can pass with 50 Senate votes + VP Vance, no 60-vote cloture or Dem crossovers needed.
Thune says there's real GOP support for bundling key pieces into a budget bill post-DHS funding deal. Full voter-ID overhaul is tougher under Byrd rules (must have direct budget impact), but targeted wins are viable and favor Republicans advancing priorities without Dem votes.

🚨 BREAKING: US Attorney Jeanine Pirro just announced activist Judge Boasberg has BLOCKED a Grand Jury from investigating the Federal Reserve
Pirro says this block is TOTALLY ILLEGAL.
THE HOUSE NEEDS TO START IMPEACHING THESE ACTIVIST JUDGES. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
"As a result, Jerome Powell today is now bathed in IMMUNITY preventing my office from investigating the federal reserve. This is wrong, and it is WITHOUT legal authority."
English

The senators in both parties have never once in history used the nuclear option to pass a law.
Doing so would open a trap door no one wants to see open.
If the Republican senate did this now, they have publicly said many times that they know it will happen to them when they are the minority.
This is an option both parties avoid at all costs.
This is something neither party has done or will ever do.
Neither party will ever have enough votes to do it.
English

@EricLDaugh You know what also gets the SAVE America Act to the floor and only requires 51 votes? USING THE DAMN SPEAKING FILIBUSTER!!

The wind turbine uses more energy in its construction that it gives back in the whole of its working life. You are being conned - there is nothing green about wind turbines.

Net Zero Lunacy This concrete-filled monstrosity is underneath every wind turbine in our once green and pleasant land !

🚨 HOLY CRAP! As many as 29 STATES may have their laws overturned after the Supreme Court indicated they will rule against allowing mail-in ballots to come in after Election Day
This would be huge, and could be a 6-3 ruling 🔥
JUSTICE ALITO: "Independence DAY, birthDAY, and Election DAY. They are all particular DAYS. So if we start with that, if I have nothing more to look at than the phrase 'Election Day,' I think this is the DAY in which everything is going to take place." 🫳🎤
