I just had a conversation with someone who told me that for the good of the country, we should drop all of these indictments against Trump right now, in essence, pardon him for everything, in return for him agreeing never to run for office again. He said that would be best for the country. I told him I disagreed. I told him that for the good of the country, Donald Trump needs to be held accountable for any crimes he committed. Period. If that means he’s convicted and serves time in prison, so be it. I said that would be best for the country.
