Thoughts on the Steelers draft?

I agree with the Pickett comment. I didn’t like it from day 1, I think Allar’s range was R3, maybe not at 76? I could get behind that. I think he has a higher ceiling than Pickett and Howard tho, so we’ll see. Plus, I have more faith in McCarthy developing him than the past

I’ll say this, this is probably the deepest O-line room we’ve had in years, with a TON of potential. I think it’ll be a really solid unit for years to come

-Like the Everette pick. Good size and can play in the slot. Is only 21 but has plenty of experience - LOVED the Dunker pick. He’ll go to guard and compete for the starting spot. Thought it was good value too

Some quick thoughts: - Love the Bernard pick. He’ll play well in the slot and be a good complement to 4 and 11 - I don’t hate the Allar pick. He’s got all the tools, just needs coached to put it together. Played with no WR talent at PSU

I’m much happier with that pick. Bernard is similar to how Lemon plays

Here’s my take: In all reality, it’s not a bad pick, it’s a position of need (and a very important one) especially with 77’s injury. I just don’t get the logic of having a guy fall to you like Lemon was and not moving up a few spots to secure him…

My prediction for the Steelers? I think they trade up… Not exactly sure for who, gonna obviously depend on how the board falls. I think if Lemon makes it past Rams at 13 (a long shot) I think they make a push to go up to get him. Vega too? I think it’s a possibility as well

Cooper Jr. did not meet with the #Steelers, perhaps because they already have a lot of familiarity on staff, with #Steelers WR coach Adam Henry at Indiana Cooper Jr’s freshman year, and Curt Cignetti’s brother Frank Cignetti Jr. being a Senior Offensive assistant in Pittsburgh too; plus, former #Steelers WR Demarcus Ayers being on staff at Indiana as well when Cooper Jr. was there. Cooper Jr. on his relationship with #Steelers WR coach Adam Henry: “He’s just always been there for me and after he left my freshman year. He still stayed in contact. He was one of the first coaches that said like, that told me I have the potential…to go to the NFL. He believed in me probably when I didn’t even think I had a chance. So hearing that from him (with) the players that he’s coached, it means I’m special.
