@LittleMacMainKO SP+ hypothetically would be 25k+ I think so theoretically achievable (Kagaribi 13 was a lot closer to that than it was the minimum for SP tier). The 33k or whatever for SSP(?) is definitely never happening though.

Kagaribi's done it again! The crown jewel of Golden Week has hit the exclusive SP tier for the second year in a row, standing as one of the biggest Smash events of all time... and it's not even capped yet. Records could be broken, and history will be made at KAGARIBI#15!

SSC 2019 and Frostbite 2020 would also have an outside shot, though I think both probably are merely P+ under today's standards. Regardless, Kagaribi 13 is still clearly the most stacked Ult tournament of all time even if it's not the only SP tier ever.

Although Kagaribi 15 is probably gonna hit SP tier soon, that doesn't necessarily mean it's gonna be the 2nd most stacked tournament of all time; seems decently likely that EVO 2019 at least would have been SP tier under modern standards.

@Ryab_FGC_ I saw it too. Having these irl streams really showed the worst side of US smash culture, it needs to change because it’s unacceptable to treat anyone that way ESPECIALLY if they are from another country people should be even more inviting and kind.

@Stuart98SSB What is the definition of a pre or post major invitational. Is there a time period in which it becomes just an invitational?

It's been decided, no new pre/post major invitationals will count for rankings after this mid year ranking period (tournaments that count for mid-year will still count for full year 2026 though)

@FireThePyro For 2015 it's "anything relevant that players took seriously"; everything on the RetroTTS Loop made for the period a few years ago and some other events I've found that Loop missed. For 2016 onwards I'll set up a more modern UltRank style TTS to determine eligibility.

Started work on creating the dataset for RetroSm4shRank (ultrank algo on each year of Smash 4) but it's a monumental amount of data to collect and clean (hundreds of tournaments, most of which in 2015 were on Challonge or worse); if you're interested in helping, please lmk!

@ApolloKage This case is a bit different than all the other cases, #4 in each half of the year was top 2 in the other half and they were far enough ahead of Hurt in each half they were ahead of him that the result was they were comfortably ahead in the full year.

How can someone get 3rd in the 1st half & third on the second half & still not be top 3?
