At the #SubaruTelescope on Maunakea, Hawai‘i, the tertiary mirror, which directs infrared light to the Nasmyth focus, was recoated in silver. 📸 This group photo was taken before the mirror cleaning on April 15, 2026 (HST). The coating was completed the following day, April 16.

On Saturday, April 11, 2026, staff and families from #MaunakeaObservatories, including #SubaruTelescope, participated in the Merrie Monarch Parade in Hilo, Hawaiʻi 🌺✨ Astronomical images taken by various telescopes on Maunakea were presented with their Hawaiian names.
