We’ve officially started prepping for our big mural project! Today, our mentor Jessica Jerome taught us how to work with oil paints. It was such a fun and inspiring day, and we can’t wait to start painting on our large panels. Stay tuned for more updates!

Did you know every drum has its own voice? With Native Council, we used physics to listen to hand drums, saw their frequencies with DIY Chladni plates, and formed soundwaves with slinkies! Want to try it? Comment “ME” & we’ll send you the activity!

Ujjl (pronounced uch·chêl) and tata't (pronounced da·daat) mean father/dad in Mi’kmaq. Today is Father's Day, and we recognize the fathers, father figures, and caring men in our communities. Your strength, patience, and love do not go unnoticed. Thank you for everything you do!

The Alexa McDonough Institute recently hosted its annual Girls Conference. It was a fantastic event attended by 300+ girls and young women. We’re so proud of our team members who supported it by speaking, volunteering, and helping to organize the event! A great job done by all.

Kiju', or Giju', (pronounced Gi-juu) means mother in Mi’kmaq. Today we honour the mothers, mother figures, and caring women in our communities. You're doing an incredible job, even if it looks different from someone else's journey. Thank you for everything you do! #MothersDay
