U know more than ur top scholars who interpret these verses? al-tabari, Ibn kathir and al-qurtubi? If the Quran wanted to specifically speak on your “allies against your fellow Muslims” narrative, it’ll do that explicitly like it did in q.60:8-9. So yeah, ur own classical tafsir understood this as loyalty or political alignment not some contemporary explanation of “allies against fellow Muslims”.

1 book, 114 chapters that can be recited in multiple recitation styles. Theres many huffaz (Memorisors of the entire Quran) who have memorised multiple Qirats, all these Qirats complement each other. All Qirats (recitations styles) are combinations of the 7 Ahrufs (different words or dialects that complement the Quran) that was revealed to the Prophet. Some recitations became famous and some didn't. It's not like the bible where verses like 1 John 5:7 are taken out of new bible translations stating that it's not found in the earlier manuscripts. Therefore KJV is a completely different bible to new ones like NIV and ESV.

The verse is right there for u. U either deceive yourself or concede ur god is weak. Romans 8 defines clearly victory as spiritual perseverance despite persecution. Quran 3:55 is different as it compares two communities and says the followers of Jesus will remain above their opponents until the Day of Resurrection, which is a historical claim about their status over time, not just inner faith. U can believe in the lies you’ve got in ur head tho 🙂
