My name is Isabelle Friedman, and I'm the editor in chief of the Daily Bruin, UCLA's independent student newspaper. It seems like I've only just now had a chance to sit and truly reflect on the events of the past week.

So much has been said about the importance of student journalism, but mind you: UCLA has no j-school. The Daily Bruin is the unofficial training ground for aspiring reporters here. And this past week, they have matched professional reporters in their clarity and courage.💙
