The issue with gun culture is that it's beanietarian in nature. It's less about self defense chungus and more about hairy, middle aged men playing with toys for the purpose of chungus generation and masculine posturing.

@RifleCCXXIII @KGBBooks For me at least I knew it from the “circle 10” mark that it was Bulgarian. Mine has a different prefix set before the serial number and isn’t as nice as the one pictured. I don’t know if the Soviets or the other satellite states used the same serial number system or not

Japanese friends - American friends too - this is one of my favorite guns that I own. It’s a Soviet surplus Makarov. Sometimes I carry it because it makes me feel like a spy.
