Notes from the Compensation discussion. Article 7.

TALC requests a PAID 8 hour day and a 40 minute lunch period for teachers. #TALCbargaining

TALC wants to enshrine calendar committee and professional development for DJJ in Article 7. #TALCbargaining

District wants to open Article 7 - Work Schedule. To increase contact time with students in Middle and High by 30 minutes. Would not increase length of teacher work day. #TALCbargaining

District wants to open Article 2 to remove Dues Deduction Language to comply with State Law. #TALCbargaining

TALC will open Article 5 - General Employment, to focus on Language for LVS teachers, Timeline for Mid-Year Contract, Staff Dress codes, and potential compliance with proposed legislation to offer extended contracts. #TALCbargaining

Meetings will be every other Monday, 4-7pm #TALCbargaining

Setting the Norma for Collective Bargaining. #TALCbargaining

Tomorrow Michigan will officially no longer be a union-busting "right to work" state. Collective bargaining rights will be restored for public school employees and so much more. This change happens when we mobilize & elect lawmakers who fight for us up and down the ballot.
