Jackson threw a very efficient complete game in the first game of Midwest Storm season Saturday. 5 innings, 5 Ks, 1 ER, 1 BB, 1 HBP on approximately 60 pitches. Ended the game on a strikeout on what he called a “nasty” curve ball.

Jackson threw his first 14U shutout today and added in an RBI single to help his cause. The jump from 12U to 14U is a doozy but this was a big fall confidence boost. On to the next one.

I have a great debate question for you guys. David Eckstein and Craig Counsell. One is a 18U Team USA Coach and one is a MLB manager. Both have 2 World Series rings, Counse was a 2001 NLCS MVP, and Eck was a 2006 World Series MVP. David was also a 2X All Star. What modern, analytic values did they possess as players? They were both proven winners as evidenced by their teams post season achievements. Craig Counsell: 16 MLB seasons David Eckstein: 10 MLB seasons But analytically? What did they possess physically that made them champions? Would they have the careers they had if they played today? Would they even had been drafted?
