@SduboisC I don't think @Sean_Zittel is being fair by comparing the Harper fights. We have no idea if she was clean for any of those fights back then. The Shin fight is fair, but it comes with experience. I think you've been better with staying focused and finishing fights.

@KYMaverick1 I do think the main thing the judge will struggle with is the state street burner account. I haven't heard Kearney whole closing yet, but she only reports speaking to her employer after Jess is complaints. She never testified about her employer mentioning that account.

⚖️⚖️⚖️What to make of Aidan Kearney's Closing Argument on Restraining Orders On April 14, I said after the public hearing that the closing arguments could be decisive in these dueling restraining-order cases where the hearing was basically a shit show. I have heard only Kearney’s closing argument, so the analysis below is based solely on that. Nevertheless, after reviewing everything I have read and heard, I believe Kearney has strengthened his chances of winning a one-sided restraining order against O’Neil. At the same time, the likelihood of a mutual restraining order has decreased. A complete denial of any restraining order for either party remains a very real possibility. In the end, everything turns on whether the judge finds Kearney credible and whether the exhibits support his claims. To test the strength of my own assessment, I took the following steps: I used an AI transcription tool to create an accurate written transcript of Kearney’s closing argument from his live last night. I then asked Grok 4.2 (expert setting) to “concisely analyze the strengths and weaknesses of this argument and the chances of obtaining a restraining order against O’Neil while avoiding one against Kearney. What is the most likely outcome based on this closing argument?” Grok returned the following: Concise Analysis of the Closing Argument (MA Ch. 209A RO Case) Strengths · Directly tracks the statute: cites specific 209A definitions of “abuse” and “coercive control” (technological monitoring, threatening to publish explicit images, single-act publication). · Multiple independent grounds for RO against O’Neil (physical fear from highway incident + bloody-bed incident + explicit-image publication + Apple Watch hacking/monitoring + pattern of threats/blackmail). · Strong credibility attack on O’Neil: documented lies (iPhone ownership, watch location, job-loss causation, edited videos), prior identical pattern with ex (Sam Teplin hacking/punishment), financial motive to keep attacking. · Flips the narrative: O’Neil as aggressor with “unclean hands,” Kearney as the one begging to be left alone. · Evidence-heavy: references specific texts, videos, forensic reports, metadata, court documents — easy for judge to verify. Weaknesses · Relies heavily on Kearney’s testimony and exhibits; judge must find him credible over O’Neil’s live testimony. · Some incidents are emotionally charged but may not clearly meet “imminent serious physical harm” (e.g., bloody scene could be spun as mutual drama). · Public-persona issue: Kearney’s own vulgar online content and discussions of sex/relationships may undercut claims that O’Neil’s similar posts caused him fear. · Mutual-filming and mutual online attacks could lead judge to view it as “he said/she said” rather than one-sided abuse. · No mention of mutual RO possibility, which some MA judges issue in messy dating cases. Chances of Getting RO on O’Neil (Protecting Kearney) While Avoiding One on Kearney · Strong case for RO against O’Neil: The argument provides at least five statutory hooks (including explicit-image publication and tech coercive control) plus corroboration (forensics, prior bad acts). Recent MA emphasis on coercive control and non-physical abuse favors this. · High chance of denying O’Neil’s RO: Argument thoroughly shows she is not in fear (her own statements: “don’t fuck with me,” “sleeping giant,” “let him win,” monitors his shows, reports him to police proactively). Her aggressive online campaign and deletion of posts undermine her “victim” claim. Most Likely Outcome Based on This Argument Alone If the judge finds Kearney credible and the exhibits hold up, most probable result is: · RO granted to Kearney against O’Neil (likely 6–12 months, possibly with no-contact and stay-away). · O’Neil’s request denied. Mutual ROs are possible but less likely here because the argument paints a clear aggressor/victim dynamic rather than mutual abuse. Worst case for Kearney: both requests denied if judge sees it as mutual online drama. Overall, this is one of the stronger unilateral 209A closing arguments I’ve reviewed — it gives the judge an easy roadmap to rule for Kearney on both issues.

@HansMokeNiemann ELO and ranking should not be considered the same. FIDE already has a system for ranking who is playing the best chess in any given year through the circuit. It's not perfect but it is better. Closed tournaments should be looking at the Circuit not ELO.

I’m not dragging anything when I was literally asked my opinion. I do not know what’s going on in either of these marriages and neither do you. But if we’re talking journalism, male insiders absolutely have crossed journalistic boundaries — because that’s the topic — and have been allowed to go about their day.

I am honestly not trying to throw shade because I like Adam Schefter personally and think he’s a good reporter. But he also violated a pretty sacred journalism standard. I wasn’t referring to him specifically when I said this, but male insiders also have crossed plenty of lines, stayed employed and weren’t subjected to all of this moralizing.
Jason McIntyre@jasonrmcintyre

when we see a male WNBA reporter in a hot tub at a resort with a female WNBA coach, will we see a similar reaction? Probably.

@DoctorTurtleboy The next step will be to make @jessmachadoshow a witness and ask for her to be sequestered outside of the room. Unless her lawyer can convince her this RO was a terrible idea. Bradl is going to get her to plead the 5th, or she is going to testify to committing crimes.

Breaking news - Meredith O’Neils motion to ban the public from Monday’s hearing has been denied. All are welcome to attend at noon. The 18 page motion was frivolous and ridiculous and never stood a chance of being allowed. Her temu thug lawyer is off to a great start.

Obviously, the pictures don't look great for either of them. Russini has two very young children. If there's fire to this smoke, what a brutal thing this is for both families involved. Also, if this does end up being what it looks like, her career will forever be tainted and questions of how she obtains/obtained intel will never end. Vrabel who preaches so hard about family, accountability, etc., would also take a significant hit to his reputation. Finally, the amount of Eagles fans saying this is why she was pushing an A.J. Brown to Pats trade, is the implication that Vrabel is possibly having an affair with EVERY NFL Insider, male and female. No idea how he'd find the time.

@HansMokeNiemann Hans falling for the PR. Magnus was paid a ton of money by chess.com. If Chess.com wanted to criticize Magnus during your scandal they probably couldn't. Many contracts have non-disparagement clauses. Now he is creating a competing entity.

They raised VC money on the condition that Magnus would be the face of the brand. The fact that they raised so much for a “watching chess” app is surprisingly to say the least. When I was fundraising for Endgame, some investors mentioned another pitch. I told them to ask the founder one simple question: will you ever let people play chess? Their answer was obviously no because they were largely controlled by the chess mafia and explicitly told to not enter their domain. The largest share holder in the co has an absolute conflict of interest, making it impossible for him to promote his company. This brings serious questions regarding fiduciary responsibility and anti monopoly. How can you be a share holder of 2 major companies that directly conflict, while you have a strict non compete with the “chess mafia”. If any of their investors would like to back the future of chess, Series A soon.
Take Take Take@TakeTakeTakeApp

"I got this very clear message that we could not enter play and learn without consequences. And the consequences are really that we cannot have @MagnusCarlsen actively promote Take Take Take as we are now direct competitors."
