Town started strongly, Carmichael heading over early from Gott’s cross. The breakthrough came after ten minutes when Taylor found Bruton, who beat two defenders before firing low inside the far post. Abdullahi was a constant threat, creating chances for Carmichael and Stares, though Durham managed several key blocks. At the other end, Cowey made an important save from Kay on the counter. Town quickly took control, Abdullahi finishing at the back post from a flicked long throw, before Stares made it 3–0 with a powerful 20-yard strike. Carmichael went close again as Town ended the half on top. The second half continued in Durham’s half, with Bennett, Bruton and Carmichael all denied. The fourth came on 63 minutes when Carmichael converted a penalty after Stares was fouled. The fifth goal was a quality team move, Harrison winning possession, Beach threading a pass to Medcalf, who finished low across goal. Late efforts from Porritt and Abdullahi were blocked, while Medcalf made a key recovery tackle to secure the clean sheet. 📸 @kmnewton1
