Tough day at the course today. Felt like we were fighting a losing battle. I didn’t take any pictures today. So in order to try to find something positive today. I am posting a feel good picture from a few days ago. Root pruning for the WIN! Pictures are worth a 1000 words.

Simple question tonight: what’s your favorite closing hole? The par-5 Home hole at National Golf Links checks all the boxes for me. A generous tee shot framed by real danger, followed by a gentle climb up the fairway, past the iconic Jarvis Hunt clubhouse and the patio where Southsides soon await, to a green perched on the edge of Peconic Bay, all while the sun sets in the distance, is the best way I can think of to end a round.

Golf is full of great nicknames for famous stretches of holes. Amen Corner, Hogan’s Alley, the Cliffs of Doom, the Green Mile, the Bear Trap, etc. So how can it be that this iconic section (1/18/17 green) of The Old Course at St. Andrews doesn’t have a great nickname? The Swilcan Passage? Old Tom’s Snicket? The Sacred Corridor? We, as a golf world, are better than this.
