@JCovensky @Warlockyone People in Texas used "Texian" until 1837-38 when "Texan" fell into favor. Texican was not a way Texians referred to themselves, though it does appear in some non-Texas newspapers of the day. So did "Texasian," oddly.

Legendary Texas oilman H.L. Hunt at the age of 22 in 1911. He traded poker winnings for oil rights, ultimately securing title to much of the East Texas Oil Field, one of the world's largest oil deposits. He had 14 children, 3 wives and, when he died, was the world's richest man.

@TexasHistory @TracesofTexas Thank you. There are other great hatters in the state, but John is just an old cowhand who is salt of the earth. My lid took about six or seven months, but worth the wait. I’ve gotten more compliments on this hat than any I’ve owned.
