After she passed, the Barbara Melzer Scholarship was created to honor her vision of supporting third year students in the pursuit of excellent clinical education experiences without the fear of a price tag crushing their dreams.

One of the biggest draws to our program is the highly personal and individualized clinical education experience. What some may not know is that this culture is thanks to Dr. Barbara Melzer.
