This is a good point. His last race was over 3 miles in November and they purposely left him off until March for a swansong in the biggest race. They minded him as much as they could to give him a great send off and his welfare wasn't an issue pre race...

Just an observation, my timeline was full of ppl saying that Envoi Allen shouldn't have been in the Gold Cup at 12. None of those people protested this before the race. In fact some even retweeted his prep & backed him. It's sad enough as it is without blame being thrown about 😢
