Ending last week with two low reviews on both Agency Space and @RAPP_UK from freelancers who have recently worked there. Here's to praying 2020 brings more 'yes' I was paid and time, and less 'no' I wouldn't recommend freelancing here. 🤞

Over the weekend I saw what I thought looked like a great potential job being advertised on @The_Dots_UK by @hellomavis_ for a client of theirs. Until I saw this... I'm curious, what makes someone who's been in a full time job, better than someone with freelance experience?

A frustrating week so far over on thefreelancecircle.com . Freelancers at @EngineWorldwide , @droga5 and @AesopAgency ALL ticked 'no' when asked if they were paid on time this summer. With one reviewer saying 'it's been 10 weeks and still waiting..'. Come on, ad land!

Me: I'm a freelancer. Them: Ah, cool. So what is it you do as a freelancer? Me: Emailing, phone calls, Skype calls, finances, proposals, house work, errands... all sorts. Them: What do you do as your profession, though? Me: Oh. Copywriting. But that's a small part of my day.

This is a curiosity tweet. Not an accusation. We need to find ways to feel empowered as freelancers, instead of at the mercy of clients.

Late payment fees are within our legal rights. We should do it. We should do it for ourselves and our bank balance, and for future freelancers who also may be waiting 3 months for payment from that company. So why are so many of us still not doing it?

Agency at 5pm: Hey sorry so last minute we've had a situation and need a freelancer tomorrow. Can you drop everything, cancel any plans and start tomorrow at 9am? Freelancer 3 months later: Hi I'm STILL waiting for that one day payment? Can someone contact me ASAP?! Agency: ...
