The last month has included losses by 30 to Charlotte, 25 to Spurs, 21 to Cleveland, 17 to Pacers, 18 to Boston and 26 to Toronto. And now down 19. Like last year's playoff series, going out with a whimper.
Anthony Chiang@Anthony_Chiang

Halftime: Raptors 69, Heat 50. Heat coach Erik Spoelstra called Tuesday's loss to Raptors "embarrassing" before the game. Tonight hasn't been any better for the Heat. Loss tonight locks the Heat into the No. 9 vs. No. 10 play-in matchup.

I take it back. Heat doesn't have more talent than Toronto, regrettably. Down 18 after three as we near the end of another exhausting, exasperating, push the boulder up the hill regular season.

@MiamiMarcosJim @flasportsbuzz powell won his ring back in 2019, wiggins back in 2022, herro was only ever healthy for the 2020 run. we are in 2026 now. herro and powell both think they are star players now and arent willing to sacrifice with their roles like they were back then. wiggins is not the same player

@TheHeatReport2 @flasportsbuzz A contending team or a championship team? Herro and Powell have proven to be that in their careers. Wiggins too. YOU'RE clueless if you think this exclusively a TALENT ISSUE. But I get it, the media has fed this life for almost two decades.

@MiamiMarcosJim @flasportsbuzz not to mention he is one of the least available players in the league. how can anyone maximize his so called talent if he can never be on the floor more than 30 games a year

@MiamiMarcosJim @flasportsbuzz ?? herro is overrated and brings nothing to the game if his shot is not falling. same with powell. they both cant guard anything nor can be useful as a facilitator or an initiator. your clueless if you think any championship team would value their selfish playstyle.

@MiamiMarcosJim @flasportsbuzz the common denominator is and always has been the lackluster roster constructions and inability to strengthen the team by this inept front office. they field the same roster which dosent fit together year after year expecting different results.

@TheHeatReport2 @flasportsbuzz I didn't see your, Herro comment...lol, stop it. He'd absolutely play in the Pacers' system because that coach maxes his talent. It's less about his system vs what can he do with what he has. But, it's not a fair comp. Carlisle is an elite coach. Spo is not.

@MiamiMarcosJim @flasportsbuzz rick carlisles teams value defense and shooting. herro wouldnt be able to play in his system because he cant guard. jaime wouldnt be able to play because he cant shoot. wiggins is not the same version of himself that he was 2 years ago. none if them have the motor required either

@flasportsbuzz @TheHeatReport2 Not correct. Did you see the Pacers' roster last season. Herro couldn't contribute? JJJ wouldn't? Wiggins, the 2nd best player on a champion a few years back, couldn't find a way to get minutes? Please, it's Spo who has no idea how to develop talent or maximize it.

19-4 run for the Raptors I’ll say it again: it’s the product of an offense that can’t score against length That simple

Spoelstra came armed with data today, saying Heat contested 84 percent of Celtics threes, which was their high this season. That's why Spoelstra didn't criticize his team afterward.
Barry Jackson@flasportsbuzz

Heat announcers saw game differently than Spoelstra. Reid and Crotty critical of defense and late close outs. Spoelstra, conversely, said Heat was "locked in" and "we brought a disposition" and Celtics simply made shots. No public criticism of this effort from Spo.

Erik Spoelstra on the Heat: “I don't know. We're working on it. That's all I can tell Heat Nation…. We're going to get there. If you just continue to forge ahead when it gets tough/disappointing, eventually you get a breakthrough. I believe that, I know the locker room believes that as well.” (via @naveenganglani)
