Absolutely not, at that point they’re forcing people to fight a war that is not detrimental to the continental US. This is my problem with this, people are acting like these soldiers are being forced into combat when in reality they volunteered for such service, which is why they are paid and taken care of during their tenure. Joining the military is not a safe way to make a living, it’s a hard choice knowing that you are a part of our front line defense at any given time. If that bothers someone, then they should never join the military. I also do not believe in the draft at this point due to military positions being given to women who aren’t required by law to sign up for the draft at 18. Of course I don’t believe that we should ever send 18 year old girls into the front lines of a war! Thats why I don’t believe women should only hold roles in the service that are non-combat, like nursing, office personnel, all non-officer. I realize there are those who will act like this is chauvinism, but until they’re ready to send young girls to the front lines of a hot war, I don’t want to hear it! For that matter, I personally believe the draft age should be 21 and over. 18 year old guys at this point in our existence are in no way adults! They’re nothing like they were decades ago. That goes for voting age on both sexes also. I have three teenage up to young adult children and have been a major part of their lives with their friends, and if there’s one thing I can confidently say about 18 year old kids now is they are not anywhere close to being mature or wise enough to be choosing the people that run our country!
