The Sims team definitely should’ve stuck with simlish & the original art style of the game. The SpongeBob collab looks completely out of place 😅 It looks like an ad. I do like the colors, but they should’ve kept in the world of The Sims, maybe something inspired by SpongeBob….

I do think the livestream & play testing should’ve happened before announcing the early access date.😅 That would’ve taken pressure off the Paralives devs. With all the hype & comparisons, it was too risky putting just that out. But the base of the game has a lot of potential.

So after watching the Paralives live stream, to me, the game isn’t worth $40 to me in its current early access state. Delaying was honestly smart. Releasing earlier would’ve caused a lot more backlash. There’s still a lot missing, but to be fair they were transparent about it.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I think another reason Paralives pushed back its release date was because of the pressure on the devs. A lot of simmers were calling it “the Sims killer” & nitpicking at every detail which put all eyes & a lot of expectations on the team.

This community has beautiful sides but there’s a toxic part that thrives on drama & division. I believe in awareness, accountability & boundaries. Don’t twist sim creators gathering there thoughts and what to say into complicity. That is not it.

Twitter, YT, bluesky. Some of y’all are using creators as rage bait in thumbnails or spreading lies about their personal lives when you don’t even know them beyond what’s public. That’s not activism. That’s harassment.😅

Alright yall. Over the past 24 hours Ive taken in a lot of what’s been going on in the sims community. I’ll make a quick thread about this. I also have a video out now. Not everyone feels comfortable speaking on complex or political issues & that doesn’t make them complicit.
