Friends, freedom-loving people, and everyone watching this, It’s really sad and disappointing to see @callebtc – someone close to @jack in the Bitchat project – publicly bullying and attacking an Iranian dissident like me. Here are the exact facts: On January 11 at 1:51 AM he DMed me: “hi, did you build noghteha?” I replied politely in DM at 2:01 AM: “Hey Calle! No, I didn’t build the original - I think that was you? I’ve been working on a modified version tailored for Iranian users, adding and removing some features to make it work better for them. Happy to help out if you need anything! Just I might be a bit slow to respond, sorry about that.” He didn’t wait for any further conversation. He never downloaded or opened the app even once to check the attribution or anything else. Very shortly after, he posted public accusations calling Noghteha a “scam”, saying it “steals my code”, no credit given, irresponsible, dangerous, etc. The truth is simple: Bitchat was released under the MIT license he chose himself. That license allows exactly this – modification, renaming, closed-source distribution, and asking for donations to cover costs like security audits. I have included proper attribution to him and the full MIT license text in the app’s Settings section. It is what it is. Noghteha: • Passed an independent security audit by 7ASecurity (January 2026) with no critical issues • Is not funded or backed by any government • Donations are only for the security audit and basic maintenance. This kind of rushed public attack from someone in his position adds real pressure on Iranian activists who are already fighting the regime. @callebtc: Please install the app and actually look inside before making such claims. And just so you know – I am a UK citizen. Spreading provably false statements that damage someone’s reputation can have legal consequences in this country. Let’s focus on what really matters: helping people in Iran stay connected and free. Noghteha is doing exactly that for thousands right now. Drama helps no one. archive.is/vNMNV archive.is/HUS7t archive.is/VSVFn

#donate" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">noghteha.app/#donate
بفرمایید: - 7asecurity.com/blog/2026/02/n… - noghteha.app/en/security-au…
