@fanocsgo Well, to clarify, smart money was never is CS skins. But the smartest of the money that was ever in CS skins has departed to Pokémon, crypto, and the stock market.

🚨 BREAKING: Souvenir Packages are getting bought up like crazy after Valve’s latest update 😳 Meanwhile old souvenir skins are basically dead money at this point… Make it make sense. The smart money isn’t flowing into souvenir skins. It’s flowing into older Major stickers and capsules with lower supply and stronger long-term collector appeal. Don’t follow the herd blindly.

To clarify: The trade up feature is the only saving grace for these older souvenir items. But my point is that instead of chasing this "hype" that I predict will be temporary, the smart money is going into older major stickers/capsules that have a low supply.

I get that but just like with any other form of investment whether it's crypto, stocks or something else, the first piece of advice anyone gives is "don't invest what you can't afford to lose". And that's for things that are meant to be investments. CS skins were never meant to be investments, that's not their purpose.

In the last year, valve has single handedly destroyed the scarcity for some of the most iconic skins in the game, subsequently nuking their prices/future prices. First it was blue gems and normal gem knives with the tradeup update. Most prices have more than halved. Now its trading up to souvenirs. There will be many FN souvenir dlores now, which there hasn't been a new one for more than half a decade if I remember correctly.. Whats next? Like what is valve actually going to do anymore? Every update that isn't related to gameplay is even worse and more damaging than the last one. The skin aspect of the game is losing allure for many people, and valve isnt helping. Thoughts?

@x4r1ncs @RyanTCSGO Being able to afford a loss doesn’t mean someone is totally fine with their value getting destroyed.

@RyanTCSGO good. skins were never investments. their only purpose is to make guns look cool. if you were stupid enough to put in money you can't afford to lose, that's on you. It's literal pixels in a game.
