At the virtual BSTH conference, Shannen Deconinck won the Paul Capel Prize for best abstract in Basic Science for her work on the prevention of bleeding during LVAD treatment. Senna Staessens was awarded the CSL Behring Encouragement Award to study novel thrombolytic strategies.

The lab welcomes two new PhD students, Sarah vandelanotte and Quintijn Bonnez. Sarah will work on better understanding of ischemic stroke clots whereas Quintijn will work on antibody-based diagnostics for iTTP!
