The New York Times is now calling Zelenskyy "The New Leader of the Free World" as King Charles calls for Ukraine's defense from the US Capitol.

President Trump and Putin had a phone call.
According to Putin's aide, the call lasted 1,5 hours. Reportedly, they discussed international issues, including the situation around Iran. Putin "thinks a ceasefire is the right thing" - Ushakov.
President Trump said that a peace deal with Ukraine is close.
Allegedly, Putin suggested a ceasefire on May 9, supported by Trump.

@robj3d3 You did the best thing leaving 🇨🇾. I'm a Cypriot and left myself because a) 300 days of sun was true until a decade ago; on top of it the air quality is horrible making the summer days unbearable b) it is not safe anymore because of illegal migrants c) there's not much to do 👇

I just moved to Cyprus 🇨🇾 My first impressions and why I moved: > it's safe (unlike rest of Europe) > friendly people (unlike rest of Europe) > quiet > clean air > fast WiFi > tax friendly > great coffee > amazing food > very walkable > incredible weather > affordable (€2 for coffee, €7 for meal) > great laptop cafe culture (unlike rest of Europe) > growing tech scene (unlike rest of Europe) It's been so long since I had somewhere I could lock in from and call home. I was torn between UAE and Cyprus but the last month made my decision for me. And so far I am so happy with my decision.

According to ecologists, the air has recorded an exceedance of the maximum permissible concentration of benzene - a dangerous carcinogen that can accumulate in the body. “A ton of oil spills over an area of up to 12km², so the Black Sea water area will be very polluted. The soil, forest, and water bodies, including rivers, will be contaminated. The consequences will be much greater than from the diesel oil spill in December 2024 in Anapa,” said ecologist Yevgeny Vitishko. The Black Sea ecosystem could be effected for decades.

🔴 Paramedic massacre in Lebanon.
Ambulance teams and members of civil defense were besieged, bombed and murdered tonight by the Israeli army in Majdal Zoun, Tyre district, while carrying out their humanitarian duty rescuing injured civilians.
The Lebanese MOH said in a statement that the preliminary death toll now stands at five. Three of them were paramedics.
Glory to the martyrs. May they rest in peace.
