My first client paid me ₦15,000 to build a website. I spent 3 weeks on it. Didn't complain. Didn't negotiate. That project is still on my portfolio today and it's gotten me deals worth 100x that. Start cheap. Start now. The price goes up when the proof goes up.

Refactoring my React CV builder changed how I think about software. Thread 🧵

Result: Each component has a clear responsibility, communicates efficiently, and the UI evolves independently of core logic.

I separated domain modules, decoupled UI from business logic, used PubSub for isolated updates, & localized state to prevent unnecessary re-renders.

Early on, I thought if an app worked & looked good, that was enough. Now I know: scalable, maintainable, adaptable systems are the real challenge.
