Simple case of everyone is scared of offending someone and the repercussions of it. If anyone with a real balls came into power who had the right skill set would simply get cancelled because they offended someone. We live in a country of entitled people who are lazy but think they are owned the world. I don’t think anything would change with any party. It would take a special leader with thick skin to change this country.

I worked in UK public sector for a few years at the start of my career Family members who spent time in the civil service warned me jokingly that no one does any work and instead, all spend their time drinking tea I didn't take them too seriously. I thought, it can't be that bad, right? Alas, it was unlike anything I'd ever seen I migrated over to private sector because it was too slow and I needed a challenge The UK public sector is shockingly inefficient, most ppl do very little. The amount of wasted tax payers money down the drain every single year is sickening. It could easily be gutted like Elon did Twitter and work just fine But no, UK politicians are not interested in efficiency, or streamlining, or saving the tax payer money... only furthering their own self interests and filling their own pockets The tories were/are dog shit, this Labour government is categorically incompetent, who will sort out this mess?

I fear that this won’t be children getting taught critical thinking though, but for them to be brainwashed to only believe sources that fits the governments narrative at the time.
