@JenrickStable @UlwellingRacing @racetrackandy Yes Sir. I understand there is some confusion The platform is a cloud/web based platform that keeps the clients information safe, automatically backed up, automatic software upgrade pushes, accessible from anywhere & stored on secure servers resulting in data storage charges.

@TloreManagement @UlwellingRacing @racetrackandy A free demo is not free access. If owners and trainers must pay after the demo, the larger question remains: why is core HISA compliance infrastructure being monetized through a private platform rather than offered universally in line with The Jockey Club’s nonprofit mission?

Serious question: if The Jockey Club’s nonprofit mission is the improvement of Thoroughbred breeding and racing, why aren’t essential compliance tools like this provided free to the industry? Horse status, movement, and regulatory reporting are not luxury add-ons. They are part of the basic infrastructure of modern racing. Putting them behind another paid service feels inconsistent with a mission supposedly dedicated to helping the sport.

The Van Berg family represents one of the most enduring legacies in American Thoroughbred racing, a lineage defined by continuity, resilience, and horsemanship across generations. Today, Tom Van Berg continues that tradition, shaping a career that reflects both inherited knowledge and personal perseverance. Raised within a Hall of Fame environment, Van Berg is the son of Jack Van Berg, whose career included more than 6,500 victories and classic success with Alysheba in the 1987 Kentucky Derby and subsequent championship campaigns.   The family’s influence extends further to Marion Van Berg, establishing a multigenerational presence in the sport’s highest ranks. Tom Van Berg’s career, however, has not followed a linear path. After training independently and later assisting his father, he stepped away from racing for nearly a decade to focus on his family during his son’s battle with leukemia.   His return to the sport came at a pivotal moment, as he assumed responsibility for the family stable following his father’s passing in 2017, marking both a continuation of tradition and a transition into a new era.   Since resuming full-time training, Van Berg has established a reputation for developing horses through patience and placement, often succeeding within the claiming ranks. His approach reflects a philosophy deeply rooted in the Van Berg tradition—attention to detail, consistency in routine, and a long-term view of each horse’s potential. This method has produced steady success at circuits including Churchill Downs and Oaklawn Park, where his stable has remained competitive. Within the broader historical context of American racing, Tom Van Berg’s career illustrates the evolution of a legacy rather than its preservation alone. While shaped by one of the sport’s most accomplished families, his work stands as a continuation defined not by comparison, but by adaptation, resilience, and sustained commitment to the craft of training Thoroughbreds.
